iPod nano review (2012)

Apple's latest iPod nano marks another re-design for the company's littlest player, but still it brings more to the table than any previous iteration.

Incredibly tiny and lightAluminum case feels solid, durable16:9 display and video playbackIntegrated Nike+ functionality

No cameraExpensive

The radical change in design here -- closer to the fourth- and fifth-generation nanos than the last -- won't be universally liked, but the seventh-gen iPod nano is absolutely the best yet. It brings all the functionality of the last nano to the table...

Apple iPod nano

Apple created a phenomenon with the iPod. Now it has reinvented that phenomenon with the iPod nano.

The iPod nano is the kind of product that just makes you stop and stare - anyone that you show it to just wants to hold it and play with it, a bit like when I first showed people my PSP back in January. The nano shows that Apple isn’t sitting on its...

iPod Nano review

The seventh-generation Apple iPod Nano is a fun, cute, capable MP3 player. With it, you can take virtually all of your iTunes media on the go -- your music, videos, audiobooks, podcasts, and even photos.

The iPod Nano's new home button and longer screen offer a familiar smartphone-style interface, and the added Bluetooth compatibility opens the device up to a number of wireless audio accessories.

The screen resolution is mediocre, there's no integrated headphone remote, and it still lacks the camcorder, microphone, speaker, games, calendar, contacts, notes, and alarm clock that Apple cut from the Nano last year. And let's not forget that...

The seventh-generation iPod Nano is an incredibly compact portable media player with gym-friendly features, but it's overshadowed by the superior value of Apple's iPod Shuffle and fourth-generation iPod Touch.

Apple iPod Nano fourth generation review

Editors' note, August 18, 2009 : Rumors strongly suggest that a new line of iPods will be unveiled early in September of this year. For those considering the purchase of an iPod, we recommend holding off until these new models become available. Check...

The fourth-generation iPod Nano is more attractive and colorful than its predecessor and includes Apple's new Genius playlist tool, a tilt sensor, and accessibility features for the visually impaired.

To use the new Nano, you must upgrade to Apple's iTunes 8 software with its laundry list of hardware requirements; the rounded screen invites glare; sound quality is only average.

The fourth-generation iPod Nano is easy on the eyes and the wallet, and you can't beat its hardware and user interface design. Just be sure to give iTunes 8 a spin before committing.

iPod Nano 4GB Mp3 Player - Black

The first thing you notice about the flash-based iPod Nano, of course, is its tiny size. The slim 4GB Nano costs $249 (as of 4/13/06), and a 2GB model sells for $199. And its bright, crisp color display makes navigating your tunes a snap. But what's...

Elegant design High audio quality

Limits you to iTunes Music Store

But if you're an iTunes devotee already--or if you want a featherweight, fashionable MP3 player--you'll find plenty to love about the iPod Nano
