Dell's highly configurable Latitude 5480 is a strong rival to its 14-inch business laptop competition, though our near-$2,000 test unit was too much machine for mere spreadsheets and reports.

Colossal quad-core horsepower. Good battery life. Faultless security and manageability.

Gets pricey with options. Slightly dim display. Thunderbolt 3 not standard.

We may be overemphasizing the Latitude 5480's sticker shock: A nice dual-core model with, say, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD will satisfy most needs for under $1,500, and even companies that crave our unit's mighty power will amortize its cost over...

stevig, sober design; uitstekende algemene prestaties; fenomenale batterijduur; multi-factor authenticatie-hardware; veel opties (WiGig, WWAN, Thunderbolt, GPU...)

sommige poorten moeilijk te bereiken (achterzijde); ietwat sponsachtig toetsenbord; knoppen van trackpoint niet ideaal; scherm is veel donkerder dan voorheen; wordt redelijk luid onder belasting

De batterijduur van de Latitude 5480 is ongeëvenaard - 16 uur WLAN-surfen zou voldoende moeten zijn voor zelfs de meest ijverige werkbijen. We zouden echter graag een paar uren looptijd inruilen voor een helderder schermpaneel.

некоторые порты труднодоступны (сзади), немного пружинящая клавиатура, кнопки тракпоинта оставляют желать лучшего, экран более тусклый, чем раньше, под нагрузкой может довольно сильно шуметь

Время автономной работы данного Latitude 5480 - непревзойдённое: 16 часов в тесте чтения веб-сайтов по Wi-Fi; это гарантирует работу от аккумулятора в течение полного рабочего дня. Хотя лично мы с удовольствием пожертвовали бы несколькими часами работы...
