A great all-round laptop that works for both home and business – if you can look beyond the average screen, there’s plenty here for your money

For the price (under $600) this is a great laptop for work. The cpu is plenty fast for the business programs I use (PPT, Word, spreadsheets). The screen is not super high res, but it's got a matte finish that I love and it seems very clear and crisp...

i3 CPU is plenty fast for most programs ; beautiful keyboard, with no flex and good side number pad ; nice matte screen ; includes single 4 gb ram chip; easy to upgrade to 8 gigs ; nice faux rubber finish ; seems well built, esp. hinges ; light enough...

strange placement of Ctrl and Delete keys ; IBM red nipple doesn't work well ; average battery

Laptop fan started failing after 5 months

 

Bought this laptop in April 2012, a few months later the laptop would spontaneously shut down after a few minutes of use. After some investigation, I discovered that the fan was shutting off right after BIOS and the laptop was overheating.

Buy something else.

Worked for four months

Died after four months, won't power on. Looking around the web I read stories about bad configuration memory. Wife not happy. Not worth the hassle to get "fixed", trash canned it after removing the hd and memory - no more Lenovo for me
