While not quite ultraportable, the MSI MegaBook S271 (£759 inc. VAT) provides strong mobility for working on the move. Weighing 2.1kg, the MSI was comfortable to carry on our travels. Its 160-minute battery life is quite good

I contacted MSI and they said that now plans were in the works to update the BIOS, which lacks some basic customizability also. I had to contact newegg and they ultamately made it right like they always do.

the hardware specsheet is very impressive

the BIOS doesn't support ACPI, thus this computer won't support Vista (contrary to the sticker) or any linux with a 2.4 or 2.6 kernel. Also you'll have trouble installing your own version of xp. the msi version thats supplied is actually an image that has...

I travel alot, and this is alot easier to carry through airports than my previous notebook. I bought an extra stick of memory, but according to MSI, if you remove the security sticker that's over one of the screws on the back, the warranty is void.
