Selv rett ut av esken har Sony-projektoren klasseledende bildekvalitet. Bildene er litt i overkant skarpe og oversaturert, men med kalibrering er den helt tipp-topp. Svarteste svart og lyseste hvitt smeller ut med stor kontrast og høyt detaljnivå....

Menysystemet kunne vært enda mer intuitivt. 3D-interpolering kun med 24 fps bildemateriale. 3D-briller kun med infrarødt signal (RF-system kan dog kjøpes som ekstrautstyr)

Det er bare å ta av seg hatten. Selv rett ut av esken er Sony VPL-HW55ES tett på optimalt kalibrert, og serverer bilder i referanseklasse. Bare med litt overmettede farger.
