Garmin Vivoactive HR review

The vivoactive HR is a great GPS fitness tracking smartwatch for people who do a little of everything.

Garmin Vivoactive HR black, xlarge

The Vivoactive HR seems to be able to do it all. There's all-day activity tracking (for things like steps, floors climbed, calories burned and sleep), smartphone notifications from your iPhone or Android device, a built-in optical heart-rate sensor and...

There's a wealth of features here, including all-day activity tracking, phone notifications, built-in optical heart-rate sensor, GPS, multiple sport profiles and an always-on display. It can be worn in the shower and while swimming.

It's bulky, there are occasional connection and syncing problems, and the mobile app is confusing.

The Vivoactive HR's versatile, multipurpose function and design make it one of the better smart GPS fitness watches on the market.

Garmin Vivoactive HR

The Garmin Vivoactive HR adds a heart rate monitor, but also changes some of what we loved about the original Vivoactive fitness tracker.

Accurate heart rate monitoring. GPS. Waterproof. App store with widgets. Above average battery life.

Dim screen could be sharper. Thick, uncomfortable design. Cumbersome to swap bands.

Conclusions The Vivoactive HR has a lot going for it. It's waterproof, equipped with GPS that works instantly, tracks many activities, and can even tell you the weather. For a runner, it's got pretty much everything you need. But it's rather...

Garmin Vivoactive HR review

Probably all the fitness watch you'll ever want - and more

Five day battery life ; Tracks a variety of activities ; Leave your phone at home: it's got GPS

ASBO bracelet chic ; Few downloadable apps

Not super stylish, perhaps, but crammed with sensors, sports and stamina

Garmin Vivoactive HR preview: The complete training solution

Garmin has unleashed a new version of its popular and impressive Vivoactive called Vivoactive HR because, you guessed it, this one records heart rate. The Garmin Vivoactive HR really is a one-stop shop for all things tracking and notification related.

Garmin Vivoactive HR review: A versatile multisport watch for active consumers

I've had a busy month. I've been running, cycling, swimming, rowing and hiking. And I've done all of this while wearing a single watch, Garmin's Vivoactive HR. Unlike many of Garmin's other products, the watch won't appeal to just athletes. It's an...

Review: Garmin’s Vivoactive HR is more hardcore than Fitbit’s Surge

$250 tracker sits right in the middle of Garmin's convoluted lineup.

Chroma display is easy to read in sunlight. ; Can track multiple sports and activities, including swimming, skiing, and stand-up paddle-boarding. ; Built-in heart rate monitor is always-on and doesn't suck up a lot of battery life. ; Built-in GPS is...

Garmin Connect has a lot of information and options which can make navigating it and completing simply tasks confusing. ; App takes a long time to start producing personal insights.

Garmin Vivoactive HR In-Depth Review

It's been a few months since Garmin . The unit started shipping last month and I've been wearing it on my wrist 24×7 since then. The Vivoactive HR sits in Garmin's mid-range watch pricing scheme, at $250. It's a bit of a Swiss Army knife in terms of...
