Huawei Watch 2 review

A well-equipped smartwatch with too many features

Built-in GPS and NFC ; Optional 4G model ; Feature-packed smartwatch

Screen a little too small ; Performance can be sluggish ; Design less premium than predecessor

Huawei tries to cover all use cases with the Watch 2, and while it hits most of them, it doesn't do it in a way which is overly user-friendly. If anything, it strengthens the case for specialized smartwatches, rather than a one-device-fits-all approach.

Huawei Watch 2 review: a decent Android Wear smartwatch that misses the mark with fitness tracking

With 4G, GPS, a barometer and heart-rate tracking the Watch 2 means you can leave your phone behind…

4G connectivity ; Lightweight and comfortable ; Decent battery life

No crown or bezel control ; Inaccurate fitness sensors ; Small screen, large bezel

Huawei Watch 2 review: A great smartwatch that's packed with tech

A smartwatch packed with sensors that looks good and has Android Wear 2 onboard. We like it

Decent battery life ; Packed with sensors ; Android Wear 2

Expensive ; Plastic strap looks nasty

The only fly in the ointment is the price. At £329 for the non-4G sports version, £379 for the 4G sports watch and £409 for the classic, it is a little pricey for a smartwatch.

Huawei Watch 2

The Huawei Watch 2 is the follow-up to 2015's Huawei Watch, and one of the first smartwatches to launch with Android Wear 2.0. Taking a leaf out of LG's book, the Watch 2 is available in two models.

Huawei Watch 2 Review: In Depth

Huawei Watch 2 Review: We've been wearing the Huawei Watch 2, one of the 1st Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches, for well over a week now. Here's what we think.

Sensor packed ; Water resistant ; Android Wear 2.0 ; Design choices

Cheap strap on standard model ; Occasional pause or stutter

The Watch 2 packs all of the hardware features you’d expect from a modern premium smartwatch, backed by Google’s ever-evolving and increasingly effective Android Wear OS. The standard strap might be a bit cheap and ugly, but that’s easily fixed and the...

Huawei Watch 2 Review

Smartwatches are a tough task to get right for most manufacturers. Unlike smartphones, style is just as important as functionality and with everyone having completely different preferences in that regard, every device in the smartwatch market caters to...

Comfortable to wear ; Smooth user experience ; Compatible with standard 20 mm bands

Uninspiring design ; Lack of rotating bezel or crown, making for a constantly dirty display ; Android Wear 2.0 is still a little rough around the edges

A solid device, with a solid price tag.

Huawei Watch 2 review: a sporty successor with a lot of new features

The Huawei Watch 2 doesn't have the same elegance that its predecessor had, but we mustn't forget that it's also aimed at a different target audience: athletes. Equipped with Android Wear 2.0, numerous sensors and an optional SIM card slot, the Huawei...

Sporty design ; Customizable second button ; Integrated SIM card slot (optional)

Operation isn't particularly high quality ; Average battery life ; Slow and inaccurate GPS

The Huawei Watch 2 is a refinement of the watch we met in 2015. LTE and GPS are necessary additions; the second physical button is quite handy in everyday life, although it looks a bit unusual. The Huawei Watch 2 comes with Android Wear 2.0 software,...

Huawei Watch 2 review: Android Wear 2 makes this a great smartwatch

Stuffed with features and has Android Wear 2 onboard, but Huawei has taken a step backwards in design
