Google Pixel review

A breath of fresh Google air in a world of Android over-complication

Supremely smooth performance ; Bright, colorful full HD display ; Comfortable one-handed use

Battery life could be better ; Assistant yet to realize potential ; Expensive

The Google Pixel is an excellent flagship phone that's only let down by mediocre battery life and the still-developing Assistant. If you can stomach the price point, the Pixel is a breath of fresh Google air in a world of Android over-complication.

Google Pixel review: Android at its best - Pocket-lint

The Google Pixel is the best Android experience available right now. For the first time we get to see exactly what Google has in mind for hardware design

Design quality is superb, stock Android runs very smoothly, sharp and bright screen

More expensive than Nexus phones, no manual camera controls

The Google Pixel is the best Android experience available right now. For the first time we get to see exactly what Google has in mind for hardware design and features. Google is completely in control, and you can tell. Everything is tight, refined and...

Google Pixel

The Google Pixel is a landmark device, signalling the first proper foray into phones by the search engine giant. And boy, has it done a good job.

Google Pixel review

Is this the Google phone you've been waiting for?

Fantastic camera ; First dibs on Android Nougat ; Decent screen

Weak design ; Buggy OS

Not the slam dunk we'd hoped for, but Google's Pixel still delivers some standout features

Google Pixel Phone Review: In Depth

Google Pixel phone review: We've tested this ‘Made By Google' 5-inch smartphone, a premium mobile that just swaggered onto the scene.

Beautiful screen ; Excellent camera ; Nougat and Google Assistant

Pricey ; No microSD support

The Google Pixel phone comes packing the same super-premium price of Apple’s iPhone 7, but like Apple’s flagship handset it’s an absolute powerhouse. There’s nothing this mobile can’t do, from multi-tasking with apps to capturing detail-packed 4K video...

Google Pixel Review

One of the trickiest considerations for a company making smartphones is just how many options it should give shoppers. How many mid-rangers do you launch each year? How many flagships? What screen sizes do you hit, which phones get the best cameras –...

Unique design with a build that feels even better than the Pixel XL ; Snapdragon 821 + Nougat = silky-smooth performance ; Battery life isn't just good, but could even beat the Pixel XL ; Well-done camera makes it easy to capture impressive pics ;...

Display in need of a brightness boost ; A little on the thick side for a phone this size ; No waterproofing/dust resistance

It's been a rough few years for users who prefer smaller smartphones, and Google's last five-inch model was introduced all the way back in 2013, with the Nexus 5. But now with the Pixel, Google's really offering shoppers a no-compromise handset that's...

Google Pixel review: the best Android experience around

During the #madebyGoogle event on October 4, Google presented two new Android smartphones, the Pixel and the Pixel XL, putting an official end to the Nexus line. This change of heart had one main reason, which has been repeated more than once by the...

Best Android experience ; Excellent camera ; Very good performance ; Unlimited cloud storage for high definition pictures ; Mini headphone jack ; Google Support service "Care by Google"

Unspectacular design ; Not water resistant ; No microSD card slot ; Not available worldwide

My thoughts on the Pixel? For Google’s first independent smartphone, they did a good job and it fits right in alongside other high contenders on the market. Apple has its iPhone, Google has its Pixel.

The Best Android Phones

The Google Pixel is the best Android phone for most people right now thanks to its excellent camera, fast and useful software, and great build quality.

Google Pixel review

The Google Pixel phone introduces Android Nougat 7, and gives you a phone that's very fast and has a great camera. But design-wise it's an ugly duckling. It's available in a choice of 32GB or 128GB versions, but misses out on a microSD card. For a...

The Pixel is an excellent example of a good phone that's been over-priced and over-hyped. It's priced the same as an iPhone 7, yet if you put the two phones next to each other, the appearance of the iPhone's in a totally different league. The Pixel is...
