Just bought the Soleus Air portable air conditioning unit with heat pump from Home Depot for $599.00!

I have lived in western Washington going on 30 years. Most people do not have air conditioning because the climate does not make it necessary. Puget Sound with its cool water temperature is large enough that it has a major effect on our temperatures....

I noted the generally poor reviews for portable a/c's here, including the Soleus. Me thinks that they are to some degree due to unrealistic expectations ad incomplete evaluation before purchase.
