I bought this for the sole purpose of smooth ice drinks (ex: Pina Colada), and it works. When using the spout/dispenser make sure to scrape the glass across the bottom of the spout otherwise it will drip on the counter/floor (depending on your placement)

The pitcher pours very cleanly. The best I have owned. I also like the quiet motor and for some reason ice chops quieter too. Dust does not collect on the black finish like so many other glossy black finishes. This sounds weird but is important to me....
