Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX66 review

Though it might seem like the whole world is trading in point-and-shoots for smartphones, there are still plenty of people who don't have or want a smartphone, or who want something faster and with better photo and video quality that won't kill their...

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX66 captures very good snapshots and video, is fast to focus and shoot, and has plenty of fun shooting options for those looking to do more than just take pictures.

The TX66's 18-megapixel resolution results in large file sizes, but doesn't make the photos any more usable for enlarging and cropping. Plus, its size and controls will be too small for some users.

Sony's slimmest Cyber-shot, the DSC-TX66, is a fun and powerful snapshot camera that might be too small and have too many megapixels for its own good.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX66 Review

Sony continues to create powerful pocket cameras, and their Cyber-Shot DSC-TX66 is no exception. This camera is super fast, captures some awesome photos, and looks good while doing it. Its size can be difficult to handle if you have large hands,...

Super compact body, can fit into the smallest of pockets ; Loaded with easy to use exposure options ; Captures surprisingly nice photos for a camera of this size ; Unmatched high ISO performance in a camera of this size ; Nice, wide 5x optical zoom...

Sliding lens cover/power switch can be difficult to slide down quickly for spontaneous photo opts ; microSD cards can be inserted backwards; camera then displays a "please reinsert memory card" warning ; Uses "micro" cards, which are tiny and easy to...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX66 Review

The TX66 is the first ultra-compact to offer an 18 megapixel resolution. The tiny TX66 will totally blow away any currently available smart phone when it comes to image quality - and it is noticeably less than half the size of the newest Apple and...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX66 Review: This Tiny Cam Packs a Punch

18.2-megapixels, Full HD video, a 5x optical zoom, 1.2 million-pixel capacitive touchscreen and dozens upon dozens of shooting features and technologies in a camera the size of a stack of business cards? This has to be a joke, right? Nope,…

Sony Cyber-shot TX66

Small body, slick components, and solid photos, but it's too expensive.

Solid image quality for online sharing; Slick 3.3-inch OLED display

Photos lack fine detail and texture; Too expensive ($350)

Remember when pocket cameras were fashion accessories? That was back when MySpace was still a thing and text messages cost 10 cents each. Now the style-conscious, gadget-accessory of choice is a smartphone, most of which take good enough photos for...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX66

A ultra-slim camera for the style-conscious, the TX66 has almost every bell and whistle you can dream up. The headliner here is the new 18.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, a resolution beast whose file sizes will have your computer in conniptions. While this...

Super compact; Not compatible with MicroSDXC

I like the camera except that it's not compatible with the not that new technology microSDXC which is really too bad because now I can't use the much larger 64gb microSDXC cards. The files on this thing especially shooting 1080p are really big so I'm...
