Scans fairly quickly, roughly 10 seconds or less a page. I'd imagine it would be longer for a higher dpi setting, but the quality on the default setting is more than sufficient for my purposes, and I'm very happy with this product overall.

Ended up using 3rd party software. If anything, it's an improvement over the original software.

These inexpensive little Canon flatbeds are much better than the ones in an all-in-one printer (to my eval) and will do thicker media such as books. Compact enough to sit next to your monitor and always ready.
