I wish usb cable was included...

 

If you buy this printer be sure to order also a usb cable A/B male unless you have another one laying around.

Relatively cheap for a laser printer + scanner. Works like wonder so far

Cable not included!!! I dont think it will cost a fortune to Brother to include a $2 USB cable with the printer. Had to make a two hour trip just to buy a measly usb cable

great except when in certain situations

 

fast and high quality prints, scans, copies. perfect for the home office or a high demand home user

when trying to print in economy mode from a browser in my macbook, has a habit of jamming papers and printing solid block of black. happens ONLY in that situation for some reason, across all browsers (Firefox, Safari, Opera)

I wouldn't buy from PCNation. I paid $60 to return a $150 printer that was essentially broken, and I think very old. This message might not make it to the PCNation site I imagine.

Dots would print on each page. Brother could not remedy the problem. Machine felt clunky and old. I think it was three years old when I got it from PCNation.

Can make it a network printer and network scanner with additional equipment. I bought XTERASYS XP-111MFP Print Server, Newegg# N82E16833147030. It is network scanning (even using the document feeder) under XP with the default software and this print...

Low price point. Can scan scan via document feeder if you use the WMI driver. That allows you to use legal size as well. Cheap toner

Built-in PDF scans don't recognize text automatically, they come in as a pdf image. That makes the file sizes slightly larger and not searchable. You could use OCR conversion but I would like on the fly. Maybe posible with 3rd party software. Have used...

Great Printer Overall

 

All in all, great value for the functions.

Easy installation ; Compact size ; Great printing speed with fast warm-up from standby ; Scanner/copier works well; copying is fast also

Paper output rolls the paper vertically inwards after printing. This is can cause a problem if printing double-sided, because the paper can sometimes be too curved for the printer to take it up correctly the second time

great

 

we're a homeschooling family - we make lots of copies and print lots of pages off the computer - needed -- we were going through ink jet cartridges nearly monthly. (our other printer is a c*non w/ a chip - no generic ink :( )

none so far (only wish i had gotten the networked one but it was +$100 more)
