Worthless

 

Netgear needs to get their technical information accurate. I'm not likely to buy another Netgear product after this experience.

Don't know. It won't install in spite of my printer being listed as supported

great little print server

 

i am using this with a canon mp530 all in one printer, vista x64 desktop, vista x64 laptop, vista x86 laptop and a xp netbook with no issues whatsoever

Great price for the unit, i bought for $39 and its worth every penny. Much better than sharing the printer through my desktop. Prints relatively fast, software is fairly intuitive to install and use. Works great with xp, vista x86 and vista x64....

needs to be reset occasionally, ive owned mine about a year and have had to reset twice. seems to happen after thunderstorms when the lights flicker which is understandable

Terrible.

 

I would seriously do some research and get something else.

It works every once in a while

Have to power-cycle the unit often. It is incompatible with CUPS, therefore our UNIX print server has all the printers in the company, except this one. It only works with Windows, and that's after you power-cycle it

Cheap make but so far, sturdy

 

This little box hasn't given me issues for two years now and I run four on a network of heavy use.

Fairly easy to install. Small. Pretty good solution when you want to network a usb only printer

Port configuration was a little wierd at first but the process was documented online so not really an issue

Replaced 2 of these with Dlink brand and the Dlinks work extremely reliably.

limited compatability

 

It's a decent solution for a small home network. Be aware that mixed O/S support and having multiple accounts per connected machine may not be easy to configure (if at all). (My unit is for sale for cheap. )

It's as cheap as they get, setup was quick and easy and the product worked as advertized on XP machines and some Vista after installation

The config seems to be account-specific, so setting it up for one account on an shared XP machine did not mean it would work on others. Also, I've had trouble connecting some Vista laptops (original config was on XP), and some machines that tested well...

PS121 rock on

 

The people on here that are having problems probably didn't set up there printing port right. if the printer is on netgears compatibility list it WILL work.

i've had this print server for over 2 years and i have used 3 different printers with it. Never once have i ever needed to power cycle it or had to cancel a print job and re-do it. the product works great even on bigger jobs

Not so good

 

none... didn't work

small business network with server 2003 and 3 pcs... couldn't get install app to finish installation, from server OR from a local pc... back it goes.. buying the Buffalo or the Trendnet which I've used on other servers at other locations
