AF-S 300mm f/4E PF ED VR NIKKOR Lens

VR and focus technology is fantastic. Unbelievable.

It's expensive but it's good.

Sharp focus Lightweight

Great lens for portability, reasonable fat aperture, VR is a must, "bang 4 buck" yes, had the 2.8 version and just to heavy, bulky and expensive for me. Overall a great combination and value.

Not really, early days yet, but can't for see anything yet.

Because it is very light, it is difficult to keep steady to allow the VR to work, unless you can brace yourself (against a wall or tree, etc)

very sharp ,nice and light for a 300mm f4, the vr system is great, I did a sharp photo of a peacock at 1-60th which was very sharp

not as quick at focus , such as a 24-70 f2-8 or 14-24 f2-8 and a lot slower than a 70-200 f2-8, I thought being a prime lens it would be very afs motor fitted, but maybe it is because it is a f4 and not a f2-8, my next purchase was going to be the new...

Great lense,and really light carry it around all day excellent results and sharp images.
