we purchased a `tamron version of this lense the reviews didnt say much different but omg the difference is massive. love it will not be mistaken and buy other than nikon again.

it is a tad heavier than the tamron but thats because its made much better, so not even classed as a bad point

If you hate changing lenses or carrying lots of lenses around, then this is an excellant compromise. The zoom range enables you to capture those opportunity shots without having to worry about missing the action by an untimely lens swap.
