Good build and finish; Excellent at the shorter focal lengths (and not too bad at full stretch); OS system works well; Good close focus ability for type

Good build and finish; Excellent at the shorter focal lengths (and not too bad at full stretch); OS system works well; Good close focus ability for type

Some drop off in resolution at longer length.; Large foot doesn’t have Sigma's excellent QR system.; A little heavier than the opposition

I used this lens for some time while trying to decide which wildlife lens to get for my Canon 10D. I was deciding between this and the 100-400 L IS.

sharp and contrasty, optical stabilization, cheap for what you get, great build quality

no HSM so slower focus than competition, weight

I bought the new DG version of this lens just over a week ago, hoping that the image stabilizer would help me get relatively sharp shots while hand holding. Due to age I am not as steady as I once was, plus because we now all can see our images in...

Very sharp images, good auto focus and built to last

None I know of yet, it's heavy, but I expected that
