I have purchased and resold 6 of these. It is a fantastic, inexpensive laptop. It's pretty fast with enough memory and hard drive space. Granted it is not a gaming machine and it was not intended to be. It is perfect for business or personal use

2 partions using FAT 32 is not my choice but it works just fine. You can always repartion it with the right software so you do not have to buy an OEM version of Windows

like all Acers ( I also have a 3108) HD is partioned 2 FAT partions, it comes with no software, you must do a backup to DVD as part of the setup to have a recovery disk. Most of the Acer Software caused probelms for me when I re partitioned and...

hard drive is partitioned and is set up in fat32 instead of ntsf, so some of my programs don't work, had to reformat it to ntsf

Cooling fan noise can be noticed, but does not cycle often, and when it does cycle, it's no longer than 25 seconds. Speakers are probably the weakest feature, but speakers on a laptop...not important to me at all

Battery life is great compared to other laptops. 4 hours is what I usually get on a single charge. Screen is nice size and also bright. Wireless card was detected in Ubuntu with no problem

Great little laptop. Great battery life, large hard drive, nice screen size, decent amount of RAM, pretty decent wireless card. Even though it's not mentioned anywhere, this unit burns CDs too (can't remember how fast; maybe 24x?)
