Asus 15.6" Notebook - 4GB RAM, 320GB HD

I bought this computer two weeks ago. It didn't crash yet. However, I feel it runs not as fast as I expected with the specs. I don't understand why a computer with such high specs cannot do simple jobs as fast as my old computer can do.
