Perfect for exacttly what you use it for!

 

I bought this netbook to surf the internet, write word documents, and do excel. Never had a problem with any of this. Works fast. Wifi is excellent. Battery life is the greatest surprise. I really appreciate that I can use it a bit every now and then...

This unit is actually manufactured by Acer, and it's exactly same. This unit can accept 2GB RAM and everything runs much more smoothly after upgrade. The touchpad is wacky when the weather is humid or your hand is not clean enough, which is extremely...

8 hours battery as advertised ; N450 CPU, runs better with slingplayer ; Decent keyboard ; RAM, wifi card, hard drive can be easily accessed, one free PCI slot

Bluetooth is turned off by default, which is pretty annoying when I want to use bluetooth mouse ; Wacky touchpad, it often fly to left or right edge ; Very small air vent, it can be getting hot at times

Jury is still out...

 

This is a great little netbook, but I really wanted to "max" it out so to speak. I will wait a few more months to see if Gateway comes up with a firmware upgrade before fully reviewing. Right now, it gets 3 eggs. But if things go OK, it could get 4 or 5.

Processor, keyboard, Bluetooth, Wireless-N, aesthetics

Does NOT accept 2GB RAM upgrade, and I am not happy with Crucial or Newegg's RAM selection tools for telling me otherwise

Like it but can't upgrade...

 

SO far I have enjoyed it. It does have some sparkles on the lid(arctic has sparkles apparently). No big deal to be honest. All in all its ok. Don't think Windows 7 will ever see this laptop though. Kinda a shame.

Great little netbook. Good LCD, great Battery life, and works well for what I need it for. The battery lasts so long! I had an external 5400rpm 80 gig drive and a external DVD burner powered by the laptop(with no plug). It ran for over 6 hours! No...

Not happy because I could not find any thing online and on gateways site. You can't NOT upgrade to 2gigs! I am not happy about that. You get what you pay for. I hope they will make a firmware update or something ; The mouse pad does take time getting...

Excellent Buy

 

I am planning on upgrading my memory to 2GB (max allowed). I am sure that will make it a stunning machine. i am glad that I got this machine.

Excellent machine for the price. Gateway still is great. I upgraded the HDD to a 250GB and installed Win 7 Professional. Machine now runs better, even with the 1GB memory it came with. The stereo speakers are awesome! This is a buy you will not regret
