Lenovo LaVie Z review

The lightest laptop in the world

Lightest laptop in the world ; Excellent WQHD screen ; Core i7 processor

Astronomical price tag ; Mediocre battery life ; Japanese-style keyboard

A few minor flaws separate the LaVie from the best laptops in the world. Unfortunately, given that it's dramatically more expensive than its competitors, the LaVie is a cut just below.

Lenovo LaVie Z review

"Is this thing made of plastic?"

The Lenovo LaVie Z is incredibly light, with a powerful processor and a decent set of ports and connections.

It's more expensive than other premium slim laptops, battery life is merely OK, and a frustrating keyboard makes typing a pain.

Despite a few design quirks that make it feel less than premium, the Lenovo LaVie Z can't be beat for a combination of light weight and processor power.

That was the most common question I heard after handing the new Lenovo LaVie Z to random colleagues, watching them hold the incredibly lightweight 13-inch laptop with disbelief. In fact, according to Lenovo, it's actually a magnesium/lithium alloy,...

Lenovo LaVie Z Review: Lighter Than You Can Imagine

When FedEx stopped at my home to deliver the Lenovo LaVie Z I was expecting a box larger than what was handed to me. I was also expecting much more weight than what was handed to me. For a moment I thought, OK, this is something else not the Lenovo...

Thin, light, powerful this is competition for the new MacBook indeed

Material collects dust easily, trackpad could use some work and some viewing angles weren't the best

OK, if you're in the market for a computer that's ridiculously thin, has a nice handsome design, and some high end specs then the Lenovo LaVie Z is worth taking a look at. I'd go as far as to say, MacBook buyers (the new USB-C MacBook) may want to step...
