Great, Works w/ Linux 2.6.35+

 

After trying a ton of different distributions and custom kernels, I eventually landed with Fedora 14 on this. The only problem with the default install was the wireless, but after downloading the rtl8192se driver off the Realtek website and compiling...

Plenty fast for my usage, long battery life, relatively thin, light weight, nice keyboard, good touchpad for the money, better screen than most in this price range, comfortable and solid keyboard, built well, and looks more expensive than it is

The hardware is too new to use with all but the most recent of Linux kernels. FreeBSD works fine, but the inability to run Flash natively is a deal-breaker. Either way, no points are being taken off for this because they're not officially supported...

This laptop is probably one of the best in its class on the market today. The body is solid and the textured surface of the palm rest, combined with the top-notch keyboard makes typing a pleasure. The performance is great, and running multiple programs...

This keyboard is brilliant: totally solid, chiclet style keys, good feedback (though might be a little stiff for some), and no give while typing. I also like the full-length right shift key (which sometimes gets shortened to fit the arrow pad). The...

On the downside, the lid is an absolute fingerprint magnet. The speakers aren't great, though I wasn't expecting much from them in the first place, being located on the underside. The screen is a bit too glossy, especially in high light

Doesn't deliver

 

This would be a good laptop if it weren't for the crazy loud drive noise and the underpowered graphics. Can't recommend it. Wish I'd got the 13" mac.

Light, good keyboard, works well with Windows 7. Not too much bloatware. Didn't really have to do much to optimize it. SD card slot. HDMI output (see below)

There's a terrible whining noise from the hard-disk whenever it's on. Literally like a dentist's drill. Makes it very hard to watch video on the laptop itself over the noise. I bought this planning to use it to stream online video to my TV via the HDMI...

great laptop, battery not 8.5h

 

very nice laptop, a little disappointed with the battery life after the promise of over 8.5 h but still pretty good (at least 4.5 h) compared to other laptops
