Free HDTV antenna

The room it is used in was a bit challenging, the antenna needed to be up a bit higher than usual.

easy to assemble, lightweight, pretty good indoors

None that I can think of, who would't want free HD TV

Pleasently Surprised

I plan on putting this thing outside on the chimney so reception should get even better. Like others have said uncompressed HD OTA signal is better that what I get with cable.

This worked better than expected. I was surprised that even with the antenna being indoors-hanging in a basement window-that the stations I'm getting the strength meter say's I'm getting about 80 to 90% for most of the stations

Winner

Impressed. Does way far better than my GE amplified antenna. The reason why I bought this Winegard. Ran the setup to scan channels and it picked far more channels than my GE! Go figure! Got this on special and the price was cheaper than the GE. Ha

Really can't mount this Winegard indoors. The brackets it comes with are for outdoors. With only a 6' coax cable, somewhat limited to find placement

Outdoors on a Pole

I am within 30 miles of transmitters for 19 stations -- This Winegard antenna, mounted outdoors on a pole and about 15 feet high brings in 17 stations, both VHF and UHF, with a strong signal after being adjusted for best compromise direction. A couple...

Small, Easy to Mount and raise

Somewhat Directional

All the stations again!

The FCC played a bait-and-switch when they were testing HDTV - all channel assignments were on UHF frequencies, and a UHF antenna was perfect. When the analog signals were switched off, some stations were able to move back down to the upper VHF...

Really works at 30 miles, including upper VHF

Fiddly to put together, must be aimed precisely

Winegard FreeVision Indoor/Outdoor HDTV Antenna With 30 Mile Range & 6-Foot Coaxial Cable

Works as Advertised

Picks up stations within the stated 30 mile range. Unfortunately we only have two of those here, but antenna gets us what we need when the satellite cannot

only con I see so far is the flimsy coax. It won't take much abuse, but easily upgraded

Excellent OTA antenna

This antenna pulls in a surprising number of channels, despite the way I'm using it. I'm using a bent wire coat hanger to suspend the antenna from the top of a doorway or window frame in the side bedroom of my house. It is connected to the digital...

Pulls in digital OTA signals, no external power source needed (no additional amplifier), wide directionality

Not omni-directional, not really an "indoor" antenna (unless you mount it on a mini-mast in the rafters/attic area of your home)

Quite good reception

It would be good if I could mount it on the roof, but I live in an apartment building where the landlord does not permit this of tenants. So I use it indoors. Would give it 5 stars, but it it not quite as good as my powered, boosted, two, indoor antennas.

Bought this antenna as a backup for my handheld, 7", portable TV which I plan to use during power blackouts. Works well. I can get the stations I want, in the Boston area, in a suburb about 20+ miles west of Boston. The stations are almost all the...

A Spanish network station, Univision, Ch. 27, sometimes has a little trouble coming in without breaking up, but that is not terribly important in a power blackout. What is important is access to the news, from the main Boston stations
