The Vizio VBR200W may not be the slimmest Blu-ray player on the block, but it delivers solid image quality and a wider than typical assortment of Web apps—all at a palatable price.
Affordable. Good performance. Solid feature set including integrated Wi-Fi, the usual Web app suspects, plus Facebook and Twitter.
Bulky build. Slow disc loads. Lacks internal memory for BD Live. Using social networking apps is almost impossible with the bundled remote control.

And though the Vizio BR200W player's internet capabilities permit you to stream videos, it doesn't support YouTube playback - a feature found on competing models at roughly the same price. We also found its physical design frustrating to use. We tested...

This unit offers most of what you'd want in a multimedia Blu-ray player, and it does so at a reasonable price; but its design and its handling of DVD upscaling miss the mark.
If you buy a VBR200W, consider playing DVDs at 480p and letting your HDTV do the upscaling. Depending on how well your TV upscales standard-definition video, the image may look better that way

One of the least expensive Blu-ray players to offer built-in 802.11n for network access, Vizio's VBR200W ($199.99) also includes the well-rounded Vizio Internet Apps (VIA) platform, with Netflix, VUDU, Twitter, Pandora, and more....
The VBR200W supports 1080p/24 playback of Blu-ray discs ; The player has internal high-resolution audio decoding and can pass these formats in bitstream form over HDMI ; It supports BD-Live Web content and can play picture-in-picture bonus content ;...
The VBR200W lacks multichannel analog audio outputs, so it's not the best choice for someone who owns an older, non-HDMI A/V receiver ; This player lacks onboard memory to store downloadable BD-Live content ; You can't stream digital media from a PC or...
The addition of Vizio Internet Apps makes the VBR200W much more competitive with Blu-ray players from manufacturers like Sony, Samsung, Panasonic and LG. In terms of price, Vizio doesn't have quite the edge here that you see in the HDTV realm: the...
