Does what it claims to, reasonable price. This player also plays DVD copies burned on my computer that my Dennon won't play. I haven't used it to copy at 6hr setting. Hope to use that feature for the Tour d'France this summer rather than VCR tapes....

I was really excited about the unit when I received it. It played well, looked nice. But the selling point was that it said that it would record and playback Dual Layer DVD's. +DL and -DL did not play on this unit, nor did -R or +R single layer discs....

Simple: stay away from Samsung video products, this is no better than their early model VCRs (remember their VB-300? that would blow up within the first 3 months of operation, power surge or not - it boils down to poor design and Samsung couldn't care...

Do yourself a favour, bypass this product and any other Samsung unit if they're all this quality and go for another manufacturer.

Just wanted to update after months of use. This recorder starts up, reading discs, quicker than my Panasonic. I believe I have discovered that the reason I sometimes cannot view discs from this recorder on my Panasonic is actually due to the Panasonic....
