some region 1 discs read fine, other region 1 discs still prompt a region conflict (even though the device is unlocked by codes - strange)

it plays ordinary dvds from the store.

It wont play NTSC on our tv, and it says it should put out a modified PAL signal.

Slimline design and quite nice looking. Good picture (though reds can become oversaturated at times). Good sound ( useing it as a CD player through my amp as well as for movies).

Zoom is quite grainy and does not allow much adjustment (i.e goes from normal zoom to x2 zoom but does not allow in-between view allowed in Samsung for example). Virtual surround modes are woeful. Does not have scart or RGB output.

Plays all format I've tried, eay to set up, all the functions you need and the remote is easy to use

Haven't had any problems with it at all - has played everything i've tried so far
