Yamaha MCX-A10

 

Yamaha's MCX-A10 is a solid digital audio receiver, but it works with only the companion MusicCast server.

Wirelessly streams music from MCX-1000 audio server; includes front-panel display and TV output; built-in amplifier; directly powers most speakers, including Yamaha's optional MCX-SP10; wall mountable.

Pricey; works with only the MCX-1000; can't stream audio from Internet music services or networked PCs; doesn't display CD artwork on TV; basic TV-based interface; metal desktop stand doesn't lock onto device; lackluster remote.

The MCX-A10 client is pricey, but it's your only option for streaming music from Yamaha's high-end MCX-1000 audio server.

CD player/recorder/ripper and wireless music server with 80GB built-in hard drive; great sound; optical and coaxial digital audio inputs and outputs; uses Gracenote's CD Database; wirelessly streams music to ; or MCX-C15 client (not included).

Pricey; doesn't stream music from Internet music services or networked PCs; somewhat small hard drive size; doesn't display CD artwork; can't transfer preripped MP3 files from CD; can't stream video files.

The high-end MCX-1000 is an audiophile-friendly CD ripper, recorder, and wireless music server, but PC MP3 hoarders will want to look elsewhere.

Yamaha's MusicCAST 1000 is their foray into digital music storage and streaming. While it worked well, the high price and small drive have left us wishing for more.

Excellent PCM audio fidelity ; CD jukebox replacement ; Simple setup ; Works with existing wireless networks

Pricey ; CD burning only works with more expensive audio CD-Rs, not data CD-Rs

Le MCX-A10 est un récepteur numérique multimédia performant qui joue parfaitement les seconds rôles aux côtés du serveur audio MCX-1000. Il diffuse ainsi les fichiers musicaux du MCX-1000 dans toute la maison grâce à une liaison Wi-Fi.

Yamaha MCX-1000

 

Le MCX-1000 lit et grave des CD. Mais il fait en plus office de serveur. Il peut ainsi transmettre sans fil la musique qu'il héberge dans les 80 Go de son disque dur vers des récepteurs dédiés. Dommage toutefois qu'il soit allergique aux morceaux...

Yamaha MCX-A10/MCX-1000

 

Yamahas Musiccast-System besteht aus zwei Geräten, dem zentralen MCX-1000, das die Festplatte und ein CD-Laufwerk enthält, sowie dem MCX-A10, dem dazugehörigen Abspielgerät.

Lived just as long as the warranty, Wirelessly streams music from MCX-1000 audio server, Includes front-panel display and TV output, Built-in amplifier, Directly powers most speakers, including Yamaha's optional MCX-SP10, Wall mountable

Not worth the life of the warrant, terrible service, nothing but trouble. Would never buy another/recommend another HP product., Pricey, Works with only the MCX-1000, Can't stream audio from Internet music services or networked PCs, Doesn't display CD...

HP's Media Center PC is a great entertainment PC for displaying photos, watching movies and playing games in your bedroom or home office, but the form factor isn't suited for a spot in your living room.
