Cingular 8125 Smart Phone

Cingular's 8125 has the right idea when it comes to hardware and software specs. But this hybrid PDA/cell phone's design and usability disappoint.

Built-in Wi-Fi for fast Web access Excellent battery life

Bulky device is awkward to hold Launching apps can be slow

Still, $349 (as of April 7, 2006, with a two-year contract) is a high price to pay for an e-mail device that suffers from usability flaws and delivers mixed call quality

Cingular 8125

Cingular 8125 can get your business done, but it turns a deaf ear to weak cellular signals.

Wi-Fi. Professional appearance.

Poor phone reception.

This smartphone comes packed with a host of impressive business and entertainment features. Too bad call quality doesn't measure up.

Cingular 8125 Review - Pocket PC Phone Reviews by Mobile Tech Review

Inside, they're all the same, sporting Windows Mobile 5.0 phone edition, a 195 MHz processor, 128 megs of flash ROM, 64 megs of RAM, a 1.3 megapixel camera, WiFi and Bluetooth. Don't be discouraged by that seemingly slow CPU: the device feels just as...

Compact, attractive and well built. Great display and decent camera. EDGE, WiFi and Bluetooth will keep you connected. Very good voice quality and the phone supports voice dialing over Bluetooth using the included software. Good reception and battery...

Cingular's MEdia Net connection settings (proxy) can cause problems using Internet Explorer over WiFi which means you have to twiddle with connection settings. Not the right device for speed demons and those who want to play videos encoded at high...

We say the Cingular 8125 beats it (unless you need the iPAQ's integrated GPS) because the iPAQ has a lower resolution 240 x 240 display and runs the old 2003SE OS.

Cingular 8125 Review - A Pocket PC Central Hands On Review

As the mobile computing market matures, an ever-growing number of users are insisting Pocket PCs have wireless voice and data capabilities right out of the box. Pocket PCs with built-in wireless phone technologies are commonly referred to as Pocket PC...

Included in the box is the Cingular 8125, a USB sync cable, a standard outlet charger, a wired headset/headphone and an extra stylus. Unfortunately, there is no cradle included with the 8125, nor have we been able to locate one sold in the U.S.
