Great phone...Can use it as a intercom system which I love because there is 4 of us and getting someone in a hurry without running thru the house is great...the sound quality is clear and the distance fantastic....no static what so ever the speaker...

On the handset you can hear the answering machine also interact with it just as if its the main base, But you can't turn it off while sleeping...other than that its a great phone

All the basics are there. At least it kept my phone book through a millisecond outage, though other settings have to be redone (I'm not done checking them all yet)
