I have had 2 Vtech phone systems, both have had problems which the manufacturer would not honor under warrenty. I'm tossing this phone system in the trash and switching to another brand. Good luck - you have been warned.

Battery backup built into the Phone base keeps settings and messages when base looses power ; The phone's only redeeming feature

The handset will loose partial connectivity with the base. The party at the other end cannot hear conversation but you can hear them. Frustrating
