LG's LB5900 series of low-cost HDTVs offer a bright, sharp picture, but are held back by limited features, poor contrast ratio, and just two HDMI ports.

Attractive. Bright panel. Good color accuracy and picture quality.

DOA - Twice!

 

After all was said and done, I decided to look up the model from other buyers and found that it was a common problem. There were even allegations from people rating it highly being fake, I wouldn't be surprised.

Poor Durability

 

I bought this TV as a second monitor to compliment my Phillips 50" LCD. On initial set up the tv wouldn't recognize the display input. After about 2 hours I got it running, and it worked. It was fine as long as I didn't move it. Now 6 months later I...

FYI, lowering backlight seems to help with the edge shadowing and dark artifacting. Here are some of the settings that worked best for me. Start by selecting APS preset. Then disable dynamic contrast, but put dyamic colors on medium. Set energy saving...

This is a big value size tv, sure its not a smart 3d tv or 4k, but its also 200 to 1000 dollars cheaper then those tv's. It is 1080P however, and its cheaper and lighter then a plasma. The contrast is amazing on this tv , it gets very bright, so bright...
