Buy of the year!

OptimumOnline subscriber here, I had CableCard installed, it cost $50 for installation and $1.25/month fee vs $7/mo for regular cable box. Only thing is that you won't be able to use some features like On-Demand channels, PPV, OptimumAutos, etc. But of...

I don't think there's anything else to add what hasn't been said here. The picture quality is just amazing, never seen anything like it. I had a cable guy come install CableCard and he was just shocked on how good the picture quality was. I was very...

Slow slow delivery. Took almost full week to deliver from NJ to NY. Make sure when they deliver it to open up the box and inspect the TV closely for any cracks or scratches. Upon signing the paper you won't be able to send it back

Worth the money

Price dropped $200 a few weeks after I bought it.

I did the whole plasma/LCD review, and then chose the PD4270 because of the picture quality and cost. Go to BB and compare picture quality of the various models. Be sure to check out the rendering of text. You do not get text dithering with Plasma. The...

The set is heavy. Plasmas are not as green as LCDs. It is not 1080p, but that is not a consideration for me at this time. My only concern is about getting a Wii and having to worry about if there will be any burn in from game play

Great TV

I did a fair amount of research before pulling the trigger on this TV. Simply put, Pioneer is at the top of a long list of plasmas and you won't be disappointed. Waiting too long cost me a free DVD player combo pack, don't make the same mistake! Grab...

Screen is ultra-sharp, colors are amazingly vivid, TV looks sleek. Inputs galore - some located on the side with many more on the back, all clearly labeled which is a nice thought. Cablecard ready so you don't need a box. Easy to set up and move, comes...

Remote is large, clunky, and looks bland. Cost $100 and took a full week to get it delivered, even though the warehouse is 20 minutes from my house. Newegg has to tax NJ residents, why not let us pickup items to offset it

Great Picture, Great looking frame. When I bought this TV I was very worried about burn-in. So far there has been no issues. I made the recommended changes to the tv settings for great picture. (Settings below)

Built in tv guide is not very intuitive. Would be nice to have an optical input. Also a DVI input would have been nice

Awesome TV

My set from New Egg was Bundled with Pioneer DV 300 DVD player for free. (It arrived before the TV.) Pioneer DVD player has undocumented features of being able to convert PAL to NTSC. Even better, player can be made region free with remote control...

The viewing angle is superb from any seating position. (Plasma won out over LCD for me largely due to my need to mount the set somewhat above my seating position. I did not want to have to fiddle with tilting an LCD set.) *Blacks are black as can be....

Built is program guide is very nice after going through the pain of deleting stations you don't receive and placing them in the proper order. Could have been much simpler to use. *Does not tell you what resolution you are viewing from broadcast sources...

Best TV I've Ever Owned

This TV has the best picture I've ever viewed on a Plasma. The clarity & color is unreal. High number of inputs for both video and audio. It also is very sleek looking just by itself, fits well into a room. As for the other reviews, my unit has no...

Pioneer 42" High-Definition PureVision Plasma Monitor w/ Built-in ATSC Tuner PDP-4270HD

I also own another entry Panasonic plasma TV from 2006. The overall color from the Pioneer unit is better and more natural than my Panasonic TV. In any case, with the reduced price, this Pioneer TV is a steal any way you took at it.

Stunning and rich pciture quality after a few calibration. The added picture gallery and VGA port is a good plus. Overall build quality is execllent, not to mention the unit is assembled is USA. Very decent price for a Pioneer Plasma TV

The humming sound coming out from the back of the unit is noticeable as mentioned by other Pioneer plasma TV owener. I hope Pioneer can fix this on their future models

Wow!

Tons of input choices, low glare screen, extremely fluid and rich color, input specific settings for picture/screen size/etc.

Plasmas (not just this one) put off alot of heat.
