Samsung HL-P5063W

 

The 50-inch Samsung HL-P5063W is one of the first HDTVs to use Samsung's new HD3 light engine.

Relatively inexpensive. Smooth, detailed picture. Good color controls.

No ATSC/QAM tuner. Mediocre brightness and contrast ratio.

We wish the HD3 light engine and smaller TI microdisplay chip would bring the price down another $500 to $1,000, but at $3,499, this is still a good value. A CableCard slot and built-in ATSC/QAM tuner would top our wish list, but these features aren't...
