Super Talent Extreme Performance DDR3 RAM

Everybody takes life at their own speed. Some take it slow, some like it fast, and some aren't happy unless they're moving at ludicrous speed . For those people, SuperTalent has come out with a new set of performance DDR3 ram that is rated at...

Super Talent MasterDrive MX 60GB Solid State Drive Review

Super Talent is offering up a new solid state drive that promises to bring you SSD performance with prices at less than half of previous tested models. Can they possibly live up to that claim or is there something that Super Talent is holding back on?

Review: SuperTalent MasterDrive MX 60GB SSD

It's been a slow process, but we are finally starting to see some progress in the SSD market. More manufacturers, even big ones like Intel and Sun, are entering the mix, capacities are increasing, performance is improving, and-the biggest sign of...

Super Talent MasterDrive MX 60 GB SATA-II SSD

Super Talent is very well known for their enthusiast-grade system memory kits, such as PC3-14400 DDR3 1800MHz ProjectX kit we reviewed several months back. So when a product such as Solid State Drives (SSD's) arrived to market, it makes perfect sense...

100 MBps sustained read bandwidth in HD Tach ; Low power consumption extends battery life ; Lightweight storage solution ; Resistant to extreme shock impact ; Up to 120 GB of SSD capacity ; Limited lifetime warranty ; 6 per gigabyte price ratio ; Alloy...

Alloy case is heavier than plastic SSD cases ; Very poor sustained write-to performance for a SATA-II SSD ; Highest response time of all SSDs tested

Super Talent MasterDrive MX 60GB SSD

The next evolution in SSDs has little to do with performance; Super Talent steers towards affordability.

Best MLC SSD Available

I have tried both this and the OCZ. The Super Talent was trouble-free, though it is critical to update all your drivers and bios. If working in Vista, you MUST update to SP1 and apply all MS updates - very important as earlier Vista had major issues...

Extremely fast reads > 100Gb/s

Stay Away...

I'd recommend to stay away. Until this happened, I was considering purchasing 2-3 more of them. However, now I have to try to get an RMA from Super Talent since newegg won't RMA it due to it being past 30 days. Drive appears to have a history of dying...

When it works, it worked great. Notebook was eerily silent without HD seeks

Heat. It runs quite a bit hotter than a normal 2.5" drive. After 4.5 weeks the drive is non-functional. Recognized by windows, but cannot initialize or format due to an I/O device error

Over-hyped technology...

2 10k drives in raid 0 are much cheaper than any SSD really and honestly, SSD technology is still pretty new and is not as dependable as normal mechanical hard drives.

Talking solid-state drives in general, they'll great in laptops. Use less power, generate less heat and so on

Lots of people think these are faster than normal mechanical hard drives and put them in their desktop computers. Sorry to say, solid-state is not faster then 2 10k hard drives in raid 0. That's only 2, with raid you can add a lot more than 2 which...

Worked great when it worked

After using this for 5 weeks, I don't think I can go back to a hard drive.

it died after 5 weeks. But, I'm hoping it is a fluke with the early batches and hope that the replacement will last longer. Thank you NewEgg for RMAing the unit even though it was over the 1 month RMA period!
